Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction using Human Bone Screw in Sports Injury

Abstract

|
Introduction : ACL reconstruction using human bone interference screw was done for whom ACL is ruptured in sports injury. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the clinical result of ACL reconstruction using human interference bone screw.
Materials and Methods : 51 patients were reviewed and the average follow up was 15(12-19) months. It has been evaluated by Lachman test, pivot shift test, anterior drawer test, KT 2000 arthrometer, Lysholm Knee Scoring System, modified Feagin scoring system.
Results : KT 2000 arthrometer revealed 8.1mm preoperatively 1.6mm at last follow up. The Lysholm Knee Scoring System is 61.7(45~79) at before operation and 92.7(90~100) at last follow up. The modified Feagin scoring system showed with excellent and good result 93%(47cases).
Conclusions: Reconstruction with human interference bone screw can restore sufficient stability in sports related ACL tear.
